Emergencies

Our out of hours emergency cover is provided by the NHS Dental Access Centre in Walsall. If you experience a large facial or mouth swelling, uncontrolled bleeding following a tooth extraction or trauma to the mouth following an accident you should:

- Call NHS Direct on 0845 4647
- Attend either the Manor or New Cross Hospital
- Telephone 07976 246404 between 9.00am and 11.30am on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays


For all other problems contact the surgery at 08.45am.

If you are a private or denplan patient you can call Dr Jheeta on 07527 792582 (Please note private patients may incur a call out fee).

Registering
Our books are open to both private and NHS patients. Each patient has the right to request a preference of practitioner.

You are exempt from NHS charges if you are:

- Under 18 years of age
- Under 19 and in full time education
- Claiming NHS Tax Credit, income support, jobseekers allowance or pension credit
- Pregnant or have had a baby in the last 12 months

Please ask our staff if you are unsure. We also offer Denplan Dental Care which is a focused preventative dental health care scheme.

Payments
After an initial exam and consultation, a treatment plan is agreed and a written estimate of cost is provided. A deposit is requested at the first visit. The balance should be paid before treatment is completed. Feel free to discuss individual paying arrangements if neccesary. We accept cash, cheques, credit/debit cards. Alternatively you can pay through Denplan (private monthly payment scheme for continuing care). We also offer interest free credit.




NHS Charges
Band 1: £20.60 covers an examination, diagnosis and advice. If necessary, it also includes X-rays, a scale and polish and planning for further treatment.
Band 2: £56.30 covers all treatment covered by Band 1, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatment and removing teeth (extractions).
Band 3: £244.30 covers all treatment covered by Bands 1 and 2, plus more complex procedures, such as crowns, dentures and bridges.




Refund Policy
We want you to be entirly satisfied with your treatment. If a filling, root filling, crown or bridge fails within a year we will provide free repair or replacement, or full/part replacement depending on the circumstances.




Abusive/ Violent Patients
The practice operates a zero tolerance policy regarding abuse or violence towards staffand other members of the public.




Health & Safety
All necessary precautions are taken at our practice to safeguard against all blood borne infections. We follow strict guidelines issued by the British Dental Association and the Department of Health.




Freedom of Information
Under the Freedom of Information Act each patient has the right to request access or copies of thier patient records (a private fee is applicable).




Complaints
Any complaints will be thoroughly investigated and any questions sympathetically answered. Should you find this approach doesn't meet your needs we also operate a formal complaints procedure.
